TYPES OF MOLD INSPECTIONS
Comprehensive Mold Inspections: A comprehensive mold
inspection addresses every square foot of house or
building surface; interior and exterior, including roof and attic.
The inspection protocol combines:
- visual inspection
- physical probing of materials
- macroscopic examination of mold colonies
- moisture measurements
- temperature measurements
- establishing damage cause
- evaluation of damage extent
- providing best solutions for corrections and remediation.
PLEASE NOTE: a correct mold
inspection has to evaluate the structural problems causing mold
growth,
the cause of these problems, and prescribe the necessary
corrections. Please visit
Mold Inspectors Qualifications
page to see my experience and qualifications and
What Clients Say page to
see how I perform my service.
Fees for Comprehensive Mold Inspections: Up to 1,000
square feet $250. Over 1,000 add $5 for every 100 square feet. If
there is a crawl space add $35 to the cost. Please Note:
laboratory testing fees are not included in the cost of the
inspection.
Partial Mold Inspections: Partial mold inspections are
done the same way as comprehensive mold inspections, just restricted
to one area of the house; basement, attic, first floor, and so on.
Fees for Partial Mold Inspections are $250 for houses up to
3,000 square feet, over that size please call for pricing. Laboratory
mold testing fees are not included in the cost of partial mold
inspections.
Clearance Inspections and Testing: These inspections are
designed to evaluate the efficiency of a remediation project.
The causes leading to mold growth have to be eliminated or
corrected; simply removing the mold and contaminated materials is
not an efficient mold remediation. Clearance inspections and testing are always done for all public
buildings and they are strongly recommended for private home
owners. The inspection and testing should be done before the
remediator applies any protective coating or paint.
Cost of Clearance Inspections and Testing: For most residential
cases the cost ranges from $500 to $1,000. The testing fees, inspection fee, and report fee are
included in this cost. Clearance inspections have to be completed
with testing. Call for specific pricing.
Mold Testing Services Only: A customer can solicit mold
testing only without inspection. A laboratory report is provided
specifying the mold species present. See Mold Testing and Fees
page for details about testing and fees.
Air Quality Testing: Also available upon request with or
without a mold inspection. A laboratory report is provided
specifying the mold species present. Visit Air Quality
Testing page for details.
